A Chocolate Bouquet
Son, You Are Such A Handsome Young Man!

School aged boys have a lot to deal with on his way to the teen years, and it doesn't really stop there.  Acne, a changing voice from a boy to a man, growing at a different rate than the average boy-some are smaller in stature for longer periods than others, and some are a foot and a half taller than all of their classmates.  Not every young boy fits in to the "in" crowd, and as adults, we understand that it's ok.  But it doesn't make it easy on your son when he can't play basketball very good, and he struggles with basic math, and he has to wear extra thick glasses because contacts irritate his eyes really bad.
We might not be able to ease all of his growing pains, but we don't have to add to it either.  Tell that boy how handsome he is!  And it's okay-most of us aren't in danger of over-complimenting our kids!
Handsome goes beyond the most gorgeous blue eyes in the pack, or the biggest muscles of the group.  Decent hygiene, a genuine smile, a good attitude and a caring personality are wonderfully handsome!
Let your son's self esteem be lifted at home first.  He needs to know the good thoughts you feel about him.
Don't get me wrong tho!  If your son is the one who is the "in" kid with the most popular group of friends, then great!  But make sure that he doesn't use his good looks and popularity to take advantage of others.  Compliment his positive traits, and do your best to keep in down to earth with the rest.  He has what he has because of you
