If there is anywhere a child should feel secure and loved in this big, scary world, it should be
in the home. Giving hugs and telling your children you love them helps accomplish this. Children often feel
insecure and unsure of themselves, comparing themselves to other children who they view as prettier, or more popular, etc.
They need your reassurance that they are wonderful and beautiful just as God made them!
There comes a time when some teens don't want those hugs so freely anymore, but do it while you can! And always
be available when that same teen is having a hard day and would welcome a hug from you.
I'm
blessed that my 11 year old son still lets me hug him, and he hugs me back!
