I think these are two good thoughts for change in our lives:

1.  We're not exhausted by what we do, but by what we don't do.

2.  We only have one life to live-is this how we want to live it?

Personalize these two thoughts:

1.  I'm not exhausted by what I do, but by what I don't do.  How many times have I looked around at all the things that need done, and I feel exhaustion before I've even started?  Many!  If my kitchen counter is overflowing with a stack of mail and bills, just the thought of having to go thru all of that makes me tired.  How often do I step on the scale, and see my weight climb, and feel exhaustion just thinking about working out?  Again, many!

But if I sit down for 15 minutes and get started, I find that the task I thought was so huge doesn't take as long as I had imagined, and I also find that it is more energizing to just do what needs done!  The starting is the hardest part.  Isn't it amazing how heavy a thought can be?  Have any others noticed how energizing it is to take a few minutes and exercise?

This can apply to anything else as well~reading a necessary book, cleaning the house, fixing something that is broken, whatever it may be.

2.  I only have one life to live-is this how I want to live it?  Do I want to be disorganized, unhappy, broke, critical, 20 pounds overweight, unmotivated, etc. for the rest of my life?  I'm nearing 40--if I don't want to live certain ways, then it is definately time to change it!  Get up and do something about it!  Declutter, change my additude, learn to save money, find the positive in others, find a diet plan I like, start a diet, push myself to get things done!

If we are willing to change, will ask for help if we don't know how to change, find someone to help us along the way, and remember we only get to do this once, I think that many of us would see significant changes in our lives.  Since we're creatures of habit, I know it is easier said than done.  But wouldn't it be totally worth it?  And eventually, our habits will change as our lifestyle changes.

What can I do to work on my goals today?
