A Chocolate Bouquet
Is Your Life An Example Of Self Discipline? Part 1

Most of us have little areas in our lives that show a little lack of disorganization, or a little less control than we like. Most of us also like to put on our happy face and show others that we have our act together! Yep! Everything is working fine for me!

Whether that is the case or it isn't, let me give you a few areas of your life to look at. They are areas that show real self control. None are easy, but all are worthwhile.

The first one is the one I struggle the most with--balanced eating. I don't mean that I eat the perfect amount from every food group. I mean that I over-indulge too often. My clothing screams for mercy, and my knees do so also! I'm in decent health, but I am heading for trouble! Can any of you relate?

I know there are people out there that have health issues that prevent them from weight loss, and even cause them to gain weight. But if we look around and are honest with ourselves, is this the case for most of America? I really don't believe so.

We pack our lives full of activities, and become tired and "don't feel like cooking tonight". We settle for convenience. When it comes to dessert, we don't stop at one small piece. Sometimes eating "almost the whole box" isn't as much of a joke as we wish it was!

Along with so many of us not being self-disciplined with our eating, we become sloppy as human beings. At 40 years old, I don't want to be quite as thin as I was in high school, but I do want to be a healthier, thinner woman than I am right now. My habits don't just affect me-I'm the example my children have. I need to show them that life is most comfortable when you are at a healthy weight, and that I feel good enough about myself to fix my hair and put on nice, presentable clothing that fits well. Who ever thought we would see the day where folks actually go out in public wearing their pajamas? For the record, I am NOT speaking about myself!

Do you have it all under control? I know this is one area that I need to improve!
