Visit Melissa's site!

You have your own website, http://lissasworld.com/ -what is it all about?
At the moment, my website is a "mish-mosh" of my interests: recipes,
crafts, deals, disability information (I am in the appeal process of
disability determination), medical information regarding to the illnesses
that I have been diagnosed with, and more.  I also have a blog in which I
write about my experiences in life, uncensored.

Do you have one coupon experience that stands out above the rest?  I am
horrible with coupons!  I have tried so many times to use coupons, but I
always forget them at home!  What I found works best for me is to check out
the store ads online before going shopping and make my list from there.  If
I am looking for something specific I will check out several coupon
websites (
http://www.lissasworld.com/cpns.html - my coupon section of
website) such as
Coupons.com (my favorite coupon site).  I plan my weekly
meals according to the "buy one get one free" and sale items at my local
grocery store.

You are a young lady who is dealing with lupus, fibromyalgia and kidney
disease.  What helps you to keep your positive attitude?
  I have a
strong
faith in God
and I have the most amazing family, extended family, and
friends.  I surround myself with positive people.  One thing I have
realized is that positivity is contagious!
As much as I love being home with my girls, it is very difficult to live off
of one income.  My husband and I made the choice for me to quit working
because of my illnesses, and I am in the process of applying for
disability
.

Are there any websites or nationwide groups that you have found to be the
best at helping others with the same health issues?
  I love the National
Lupus Foundation of America (
http://www.lupus.org/newsite/index.html)and
WebMD (
http://www.webmd.com/).
I would like to add that my sister and I have just joined a study for
lupus research called SisSLE (
http://www.sissle.org/).  The research study
will be following my sister (who does not have lupus) and I, along with
other sisters with and without lupus to try and understand why some sisters
develop lupus and others do not.  I am very excited to be a part of this
study!

Do you plan to add your online store to your website soon?  What will you
be selling?
At the moment, money is the reason that we have not been able
to get our online store up.  I make all natural lip glosses and am in the
process of experimenting with lotions as well.  I have been unable to find
many beauty products that are exclusively natural, and with my health
conditions and my body being so sensitive to chemicals, this is a concern
of mine.  I would love to be able to start my own line of lip glosses and
other all natural beauty products at an affordable price.  We (meaning my
husband and I) are in the process of creating our business plan and have a
potential investor.  As soon as we are able to both secure an investor and
ensure that our products will be at an affordable price to our customers,
we will be starting our store.  This has been a dream of mine since I was
17.
